This was my first time making wings of any kind so I wanted to make sure they came out good and that the sauce would stick to the wings. GOOD LUCK!
Ingredients:
24 Wings
BBQ sauce of your choice
1 cup Flour
2 Eggs
1 tblsp water
Salt & Pepper
2 tblsp Corn Starch
Vegetable Oil or frying oil of your choice
Cooking spray
Directions:
Wash and dry your wings and prepare to cut.
When you buy chicken wings from a meat counter, they will consist of three segments: the drum, the flat, double-boned "wing" part, and the tip.
Begin by removing the smallest of the three segments, the wing tip. Look for the knuckle; ideally, that's the best spot to disengage the tip from the rest of the wing.
Next, remove the drumstick-shaped segment (called the drummette) from the midsection of the wing.
You will get 3 parts of the wing as shown below:
In one bowl add a cup of flour, corn starch, salt, and pepper and set aside. In another add 2 eggs with a tblsp of water; mix. Start with placing wings into egg mix and letting mixture fall off and then placing into flour mix. Make sure the wings get completely covered when placing in each mix for best results. Heat your oil for frying while you make the sauce. The oil needs to get really hot to fry the wings. Pre-heat your oven to 400 at this point also.
To make the sauce I combined bbq sauce of your choice or homemade if you choose so and added corn starch, salt, and pepper.
After you have made the sauce start frying your wings. Depending on how big your pot is will determine how many wings you can fry at once. As those fried I placed a plate with paper towels on the side. You are frying your wings only halfway so about 5 mins on each side.
Once you have finished frying all the wings, pat them down to get rid of any other excess oil.
Now, put the sauce in a big bowl and add the wings in and mix until the wings are completely covered with the sauce. Place on a baking tray sprayed with cooking spray and place into the oven for 20 minutes.
You can brush on more sauce to the wings as they bake to make sure they come out nice and saucy!
Here is how mine came out:
Pardon the baking pan. I also made a bbq pizza and cheese pizza afterwards as well.
